    Bishkek, 22 March 2017 – International Business Council (IBC) arranged a roundtable to discuss the ways of building effective partnerships between the UN agencies and Kyrgyz businesses. The representatives of the UN Children Fund (UNICEF), the UN World Food Programme (WFP), the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and mining companies, cellular operators, financial institutions, as well as hospitality and tourism companies participated in the round table.

    The UN system in Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with its national partners finalizes validation of strategic directions of cooperation within the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF 2018-2022). Four national consultations have been held during the past year where representatives of the President’s Administration, Government, Parliament civil society organizations, UN system and other stakeholders jointly identified four priority areas.

    BISHKEK, 7 March 2017 – The official ceremony signing of the Exchange Notes, in order to launch three new projects took place among the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Yoshihiro Yamamura, UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Alexander Avanessov and UNICEF Representative in the Kyrgyz Republic Mrs. Yukie Mokuo. The projects were designed by UN agencies in close collaboration and consultations with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and reflect national priorities and interests.

Government initiatives such as Data.gov influenced the growth of interest in open data.
