Kyrgyzstan's Envoy to UN, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights discuss human rights cooperation
Kyrgyzstan's Envoy to UN and other Geneva-headquartered international organizations Ulan Jusupov on November 6 met with High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein.
The High Commissioner took a note of the results of parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan and congratulated the country with successful election into the UN Human Rights Council.
A broad range of issues related to Kyrgyzstan's cooperation with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, cooperation in human rights protection and promotion in connection with election of Kyrgyzstan to seat in UN Human Rights Council during 2016-2018 and chairmanship of Asia-Pacific group for human rights was discussed at the meeting.
Kyrgyzstan expressed readiness to participate in strengthening of the Human Rights Council's role in improvement of international cooperation.
