Deputy Foreign Minister, UN Representative discuss promotion of human rights in Kyrgyzstan
Deputy Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Askar Beshimov met with the Chief of the Europe and Central Asia Section at the UN Human Rights Office Hulan Tsedev, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry reported on September 3.
Tsedev had arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in a seminar on implementation of the recommendations of the UN mechanisms on human rights, which was organized by the Kyrgyz Coordination Council on Human Rights jointly with the OHCHR in Bishkek.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of further cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the OHCHR in protection and promotion of human rights.
Beshimov briefed about implementation of Kyrgyzstan's international obligations in the sphere of human rights protection. In June 2015, Kyrgyzstan has completed another cycle of reports on the topic, says the message.
The UN Representative noted the positive achievements of Kyrgyzstan within promotion of human rights and added that the OHCHR appreciates cooperation with the country.
Following the meeting, Hulan Tsedev stressed readiness of the UN Human Rights Office to continue fruitful cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and provide full assistance in the field.
