The arrival of the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Kyrgyz Republic – Mr. Ozonnia Ojielo
Bishkek, 8 January 2018 – The United Nations in the Kyrgyz Republic is delighted to announce that Mr. Ozonnia Ojiello has assumed his new position as UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to the Kyrgyz Republic on 8 January 2018.
Prior this appointment Mr. Ojiello has been Regional Cluster Leader for Governance and Peacebuilding in Africa, Addis Ababa for the period from 2014 to 2017.
From 2011-2014, he was Coordinator for Conflict Prevention and Recovery UNDP’s Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery in New York. He previously served as Senior Peace and Development Adviser to the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Kenya and Chief of the Peacebuilding Programme of UNDP Kenya (2008-2011); Senior Governance Adviser to the UN Resident Coordinator, and Head of the Governance Programme of UNDP Ghana (2004-2008).
From 2002 to 2004 he was Head of Operations and Officer in Charge of the Sierra Leone Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Mr. Ojiello holds a Bachelor's degree of Laws from Anambra State University of Science and Technology, Awka, Nigeria, a Master's degree in History from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and an Executive Master's degree in Strategic and Project Management, Paris Graduate School of Management. He also holds a Doctorate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
