The Sputnik’s Chief Editor Will Join WFP on a Live Broadcast to discuss Gender Equality in Kyrgyzstan
The Sputnik International News Agency and Radio (Sputnik) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) will join forces to discuss gender equality and women’s empowerment during a live broadcast attended by the Sputnik’s Chief Editor Margarita Simonyan.
The real-time video conference will take place at Sputnik’s Kyrgyzstan press center on March 28 from 1.30pm onwards and will feature a series of presentations by media and gender experts from Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
In particular, Altynai Maimekova, WFP’s programme officer, and Jypara Turmamatova, UN Women’s Project Coordinator, will discuss gender equality in Kyrgyzstan as well as the need to develop gender-sensitive reporting skills among Kyrgyzstan’s media.
Practicing journalists are welcome to participate in the live video conference at Sputnik’s Kyrgyzstan press center. In order to register, participants must either send an email with their names and media outlets to email@example.com or call (312) 66 00 33 (ext 2430). Registration is open until 5pm on March 27. The number of participants will be limited. The online broadcast will be available on www.sputnik.kg
