    On July 18, 2018, a new media campaign #БоорукерБол #БудьДобрее (“be kinder”) aimed at overcoming stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV was presented in Bishkek. The campaign will reach about 1,000,000 social network users in Kyrgyzstan.

    The international scientific and practical workshop for pediatricians, social workers and psychologists of AIDS centers on the issues of treatment, care and support to children with HIV finished its work today. The event was supported by the Ministry of Healthcare of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republican AIDS Center, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

    UNODC strengthens intelligence analytical capacity of Central Asian law enforcement agencies

    Some 17 officers from analytical units of the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan🇰🇿, Kyrgyzstan️, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan🇺 were trained to conduct the operative information analysis with the help of analytical criminal intelligence software " ArcGis "and" IBM i2 " at the training from 18 to 22 June conducted in Kyrgyzstan.

    United Nations in Kyrgyzstan refuses single-use plastic

    On June 14, 2018 the United Nations Country Team in Kyrgyzstan made a decision to stop using single-use plastics at meetings and events supported by the United Nations. We will work with hotels, service providers, and partners to urge them to follow our green policy. It is aimed at deepening environmental awareness about the major environmental challenges created by omnipresent global products, especially plastic bottles and plastic shopping bags.

    UNICEF statement on observing children’s right to privacy and confidentiality

    UNICEF is concerned about the recent public release of pictures, names and personal data of children allegedly involved in some crimes. In line with the principle of the best interest of the child, enshrined in the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic as well as in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNICEF calls all the authorities and media outlets to avoid identification of children in contact with the law.
